In Davao, when someone says “Hilltop”, most of us would immediately think of that relaxing space up in Diversion road. Before, it was a campsite and a restaurant. Today, it has morphed into a one-stop recreational area where you can dine, swim, rest and even ride the zipline without busting your budget. Excited already? Davaoenyos, say hi to Grand View Resort and Restaurant.
Grand View Resort and Restaurant, formerly Dencio’s Hilltop, is Davao’s brand new addition to its rich tourist spot repertoire. This 3,000-square-meter hill patch is owned by the Dizon Group of Companies, the same company behind some of the most-loved recreational sites in Davao: Maxima Beach Resort, Davao Crocodile Park and Mt. Apo Highlands.
Grand View’s main attraction is a Filipino restaurant overlooking the urban landscape of Davao city. This cozy resto serves authentic Filipino dishes at the price range of P90-P400. Their Fiesta platters, a huge bilao of grilled pork, chicken and seafood, start at P500 only. And these flavorsome platters are good for a minimum of 5 people, mind you. Although the restaurant isn’t 100% finished yet, their kitchen is officially geared up and more than ready to take your orders.
Aside from the tasty fares that Grand View’s restaurant has, they will also be having weekend acoustic performances. Getting ready for your next meal there? That’s not all.
If you feel like staying for a little bit longer than just a meal, you can book your next mini-vacation at Grand View. They will be opening up a few cottages available for overnight accommodations. Imagine getting up to a nice view of the sunrise, having a hearty lunch, riding the zipline in the afternoon and taking pictures with the charming lights of the majestic Davao landscape as background. I don’t know about you, but it feels like that is the closest thing to heaven.
So, the next time you feel like getting away from it all, you will be surprised at how much a short cab ride to Grand View Resort and Restaurant can do.
